Forza Horizon 6, set in a sprawling and visually stunning version of Japan, isn’t just about speed and racing—Playground Games has worked hard to make sure everyone can enjoy it. One standout accessibility feature is High Contrast Mode, which helps players clearly see cars, landmarks, and interactive objects against a simplified, easy-to-read background.

How High Contrast Mode Works

High Contrast Mode changes how the game looks to make key elements stand out:

Object Highlighting: Cars, road signs, and other interactive objects get colorized or outlined so they’re easier to spot at a glance.

Background Simplification: The world around you is slightly darkened or desaturated, removing distracting colors and details so important objects “pop.”

Color Customization: Players can tweak highlight colors to suit their vision needs. This is especially useful for colorblind players or those with low vision.

The result is a clearer, more navigable experience, letting players focus on the race without getting lost in the scenery.

Other Accessibility Features

High Contrast Mode is just one part of a suite of tools designed for inclusion:

Car Proximity Radar: Helps detect nearby vehicles in blind spots to avoid collisions.

Sign Language Support: For cutscenes, on-screen ASL and BSL interpreters will be available after launch.

Driving Assists: Options like AutoDrive, steering assists, and braking aids make the game playable for beginners or those who need extra support.

Narrative & UI Options: The AI assistant ANNA returns, with screen narration, adjustable HUD text, and menu scaling for easier reading.

Launch Information

Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Players who pre-order the Premium Edition get early access starting May 15, 2026. With High Contrast Mode and other accessibility features, the game ensures everyone can enjoy Japan’s open world—whether you’re racing at top speed or exploring the scenery at your own pace.
