Bor ist das genial, ein 'echtes' DIY Forum auf Deutsch - Hammmmmmmmmer!!

Bin immernoch an meinem GSSL und hab da ein Problem mit Noise.. Hab das gestern in das Prodigy Pro Forum gepostet und kopiers einfach mal hier rein:

There is noise on both channels + a little hum on the right channel. The rest (compression, makeup, meter) seems to work fine!

So I read through the thread, pulled out my two channel VCAs (2180s) and bridged pin 1 and 8 as chris suggested almost 2 years ago
Et voila, I hear the signal loud and proud at my outs. No hum at all.
So what could it be? The VCAs seem ok as they behave well in my (modded) 3630

I just measured some volts at the empty VCA sockets and the plugged 5534s..

2180s (VCAs removed)
pin 7: 15V
pin 5: -15V ?? shouldn't that be less due the 5k1 that I have between the -15V rail and pin 5 instead of the 3k9?

5534s(while plugged in)
pins 1 and 8: 12,6 V
pin 4: -15V
pin 7: 15V
At the schemo I read that it should be +-12V at pins 7 and 4..

Is there something wrong with my circuits? Could anyone of you be so kind and give me a little hint?

BTW the two 10k, the 86R, 1M and the 50k trim around the VCAs are removed as seen in the 218x mod threads here in the forum..

vca's richtig herum eingebaut? sidechain vca ist entgegengesetzt?
ansonsten lass mal pin 3 vom vca weg, dann sollte das signal normal laut zu hören sein.
der fehler liegt dann in der sidechain schaltung.

Ich hab kein Lautstärkeproblem. Im Prinzip funktioniert der Kompressor wie er sollte. Nur hat er eben so ein deutlich wahrnehmbares Grundrausch/-brumm-Gemisch auf beiden Kanälen, auf dem linken bisschen lauter.

Wenn ich die Channel-VCAs bypasse, also Pins 1 u. 8 brücke, ist das Rauschen weg und Eingangssignal ist am Ausgang zu hören.

Ich löte mal schnell den Pin 3 ab und setz den VCA rein, um zu sehen, ob sich was ändert..

Brummschleife durch falsche Erdführung?
Schau nochmal genau über deine Konstruktion drüber, damit du nirgendwo einen geschlossenen Kreis als Erde verdrahtet hast.

Ansonsten vielleicht das Netzteil das in die Knie geht weil irgendwo etwas nicht stimmt. Werden die Spannungsregler heiß?

Ok, hab die Channel VCAs ohne Pin3 betrieben: immernoch noise.
Zum Vergleich: Pins 1 u. 8 gebrückt: absolute Stille

Meine Erdung sieht so aus: Masse kommt vom Netzstecker rein, auf einen VerteilerPunkt am Gehäuse.

Die XLRs sind über das Gehäuse geerdet.

Von dem Massepunkt geht ein Kabel auf die PCB nämlich am BAL input 0 Anschluss. Die Platine ist sonst vom Gehäuse isoliert, da sie auf Plastikpfählchen steht

Auf der Platine selbst gibts halt noch ein paar Groundloops, aufgrund des Platinendesigns. Soll ich die durchtrennen? Die meisten DIYer haben damit eigentlich keine Probleme.
Ich finde es seltsam, dass das Störgeräusch mit gebypassten VCAs verschwindet..

Ist es eigentlich normal, dass der Gssl beim ausschalten fett laut knackt? Hab da immer Angst, dass es mir die Boxen schiesst..

Die Regulatoren werden warm, man verbrennt sich aber nicht die Finger auch wenn man ne Weile dran bleibt.. Die Spannungen sind auch unter Last stabil..

Hast Du den Anschluß am Rand der Platine benutzt? Bei dem anderen (für den Flachtrafo auf der Platine) hatte ich Brummen, jetzt nahezu 100db S/NR RMS (Über Soundkarte bei +4db).

..hab ich gerade umgelötet.. hat sich aber nichts dabei geändert.

Ist das bei Euch auch so, daß das Meter ca. 1 s nach dem Einschalten nochmal fett bis zum Maximum anschlägt? (Hab nen Be*******er mit vorgeschaltetem 12k Widerstand)

Check that your +/-12V are regulating correctly. Noise when "in", but not when bypassed, points to noise in the sidechain only. This can probably only come from poor regulation of the supply for that section - which is the +/-12V lines.
