for grounding:

you have a rev01 PCB, right ?
just a guess, could this be some sort of oscillation ?
you could try to add those grid stoppers (GSX01 & GSX02 in the rev02 schematic)

Grounding looks good. Yes i have a Rev01 board. Will try those grid stoppers. I guess if they don't help they also won't hurt ?

I'd like to share a bug here: I had no compression on the left channel, changed tubes, T4B, pots, trannies etc: no compression. After hours I found ot that I had a barely visible short at pin 6 of the T4B octal socket. Now everything works as expected, even the channel matching/stereo adjust works absolutely fine. I'm happy now :D .
Waiting for my front panel, expect a cool looking device in the next weeks.

I don't see a short on my PCB. Maybe it's just a fault on your PCB and not on the whole batch.

Almost forgot but i actually finished mine some time ago. It was some stupid faults in the wiring of the link switch and the meter switches which caused the unit to behave quite funky (and i mean REALLY funky  )
It was a classic PICNIC fault (in this case PICNIC = Problem in Chair, not in Compressor) :?

Anyway a big thank you to Volker for supplying once again a great project. I don't think it can be easier to get a dual LA2A than this.
Noise is pretty low, completely usable in every situation. I only hear it when no signal is present and then it's not so obvious. Gain of the unit is way too much so i think i will perform the gain mod somewhere down the road but i am happy that it's working now.
